Junie B. Jones Tours the Country

July 16, 2013

Today we welcome Kathy, RHC publicist extraordinaire and mom of three, to give you a glimpse of one of the very cool annual “bus tours” Random House Children’s Books coordinates. We love the Junie B. Jones Stupid Smelly Bus Tour – it is such a great opportunity to get kids from around the country fired up about reading!

Kathy: The Junie B. Jones Stupid Smelly Bus Tour celebrated its 10th anniversary this summer, where it visited 18-cities over the course of its 6-week run. Actors portraying Junie B. Jones and her bus driver Mr. Woo performed a live theatrical show that thousands of fans (which included children, parents, educators, and booksellers) enjoyed. In ten years, our tour has seen hundreds of US cities, 7 different Junie B. Jones and Mr. Woo actors, a costume change, and celebrity meetings (Pauley Shore!). Our tenth year was an extra special one, and the following is a snapshot of just some of the wonderful independent bookstores that hosted events on the tour this year.

Until next year!
