Let Us Help You Find the Perfect Book for Everyone on Your List!

December 5, 2011

Now that it’s December, we’re officially in the holiday season, and we believe that books make the best gifts for anyone on your list! We’d love to help you find the perfect choice for readers of all ages and interests.

An Inheritance tree at University Book Store!

Starting today, we’re taking your specific questions about children’s book recommendations on our Facebook page. Just post your question, a little bit about the book recipient and their interests, and we’ll recommend a book we think they would enjoy! You can just think of us as your holiday book elves (we copied this wonderful idea from our friends over at Books on the Nightstand- if you want to ask them for their adult book recommendations, you can post on their Facebook page). Our Facebook friends are also more than welcome to chime in with their own recommendations- the more, the merrier!

We will also be running our popular 12 Days of Books posts for the second year, starting this Thursday. Each day for the twelve days leading up to Christmas we will give you one short book recommendation along with the readers we think would most enjoy it. At the end of the 12 days, you can leave us a comment on the blog, our Facebook page, or tweet about the series for a chance to win all twelve books we’ve featured. That’s right, one winner takes all!

And finally, just to kick these recommendations off, here’s a handy printable grid some of our friends at Random House pulled together. This lists specific book genres or interests on one side and then gives you a few new books that the reader might also enjoy and includes both adult and children’s books. We’re sure with all of these recommendations, you’ll find lots of great new reads for you or your loved ones. Don’t forget, when you visit a local independent bookstore, their staff members can also share their vast book knowledge and recommendations with you. That’s one reason we love them so much!
