Inside the Launch Party for Liz Gallagher’s My Not-So-Still-Life

May 18, 2011

Local author Liz Gallagher celebrated the launch of her 2nd novel, My Not-So-Still Life, at the Secret Garden Bookshop in Seattle this weekend. Like her first novel, The Opposite of Invisible, the book takes place in Seattle and contains great local details. In fact, she mentions Secret Garden so it was the natural place to host her!
Upon entering The Garden, we were greeted by this beautiful table full of cupcakes made by Bake it in a Cake. These are cupcakes with surprises baked right in the middle!

Liz looked awesome in her pink wig, and her literary BFF, Heather Davis, looked great in blue.

Isn’t the cover just stunning? Luckily they had a few extra wigs to try on….

So of course my daughter, Ruby, and I had to get a picture.

Liz read for a bit and was introduced by event coordinator extraordinaire Suzanne Perry.

Suzanne introduced her as a real “FOG” (Friend of the Garden) since not only is she a customer, she also leads their teen book club.
Both of Liz’s books are great reads about artistic teens discovering their art and themselves.

Yay, Liz! Looks like a lot of fun, especially with the pink wigs!
