One thing that we love to do on this blog is to give you readers recommendations for new or old titles that are perfect for specific age levels or interests. We’re launching a new feature that we like to call “Ask a Rep.” We want you to e-mail us, comment here, or comment on our Facebook page with your burning children’s book questions.

Are you looking for a book for your four-year-old boy? How about a great new paranormal romance for your teenage niece who has read everything? Do you need help wading through the hundreds of new releases that you have seen at your local bookstore or library? Or do you have a totally random book-related question we might be able to shed some light on? For example, would you love to find out about our favorite bookstores in a specific city? Or which authors are great to follow on Twitter? Send us your questions and we’ll share our knowledge, expertise and random trivia with you!

We’ll run our first Ask a Rep post next week, so comment away!

What is the one book that you wish every child should read?

I have two girls who love books about dogs. I’m fairly confident that I’ve got the classics bought, can you recommend any that are recently published?

There’s a great fairly new old-fashioned coming of age, girl meets dog book called “The Leanin’Dog” by Nuzum, depending on the ages of your girls, there’s also one I’ve always liked to recommend called “I, Jack” by Finney. It’s a sort of memoir by a dog, he narrates it himself.
“Because of Winn Dixie” is great too, but I’m sure you have that one covered already!
      Good luck…

Thank you, all, and keep the questions coming! We will be running this question and response monthly from now on.

Jennifer, any part of the country in particular to start with?
