12 Days of Books: Day 11

December 23, 2010

We’ll be featuring one short review a day from a member of our group from now until December 24 (excluding weekends) as part of our 12 Days of Books so check back daily! We’ll cover all age ranges, from baby through adult books. And at the end of the 12 days, we will offer one lucky reader the chance to win all 12 books to read yourself, give as gifts, or donate to your local schools or libraries. If you missed day 1, click here. Click on the numbers for days 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10.

Today’s review comes to us from Nic!

Stone Child by Dan Poblocki

Perfect for:  fans of Goosebumps that have outgrown the series but still like to be scared

Why they will love it:  The creepy critters from the books are ALIVE!  I always wanted this to happen when I was reading scary books as a kid, what could be better than a demon-dog terrorizing my little brother?!?  It never happened when I was a kid, but it happens to Eddie when his family moves and he discovers an unpublished coded manuscript from his favorite author.  Will Eddie and his friends translate the manuscript fast enough to save the town?  Or will the Woman in Black conquer?
