12 Days of Books: Day 8

December 20, 2010

We’ll be featuring one short review a day from a member of our group from now until December 24 (excluding weekends) as part of our 12 Days of Books so check back daily! We’ll cover all age ranges, from baby through adult books. And at the end of the 12 days, we will offer one lucky reader the chance to win all 12 books to read yourself, give as gifts, or donate to your local schools or libraries. If you missed day 1, click here. Click here for day 2, and here for day 3, here for day 4, here for day 5, here for day 6, and here for day 7.

Today’s review comes to us from Kate!

The Penderwicks and The Penderwicks on Gardam Street by Jeanne Birdsall

Perfect for: independent readers or reading and sharing together as a family.

Why They Will Love It: The Penderwick Sisters are a delight, always ready for an adventure filled with fun and a little bit of mischief and always there for each other. This is a family your family should spend some time with this holiday season, and all year round. Their third adventure is due in May 2011, so read these and get ready for more fun to come.

FAVORITE books! I love those and recommend them to so many of my middle grade girl readers. I cannot wait for the third book this spring!
