Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
Perfect for: teens, adults, fans of historical fiction
Why They’ll Love It: My first response after reading this book was, “Wow.” Beautifully written, Revolution is an amazing book for both teens and adults. Donnelly expertly weaves historical fiction into a contemporary story about a girl going through many problems and trying to discover who she is and where she fits in. Many teens do not like historical fiction because it is stifled or boring to them, but this book is different. Most books I have read that alternate from historical to contemporary do so by alternating chapters. However, in Revolution, Donnelly weaves the stories together in a way that is not confusing and is able to catch the interest of teens as well as adults.
