Books in the Wild: Cat Edition
Last month our regular Books in the Wild feature was devoted to dogs and books. In the interest of equal time, this month we are featuring cats and books.
As much as we all love our pets, Random Acts of Reading is all about books, so it’s only fitting that this post feature a book, as well as all the kitties with books. When I first noticed this book on the counter in one of the many Independent Bookstores I get to spend my work days in I thought “what a cute picture of a kitten, and books”……then I saw the title, and as any cat owner would do, I snickered. Then I bought a copy. Yes, I Could Pee on This and Other Poems By Cats, makes perfect sense to anyone who has been, as they say “owned by a cat”. Cats are weird, funny, fuzzy and adorable, and here at Random Acts of Reading today, they are comfy, cozy and irresistable among the books!
It’s always a good time for a Cat Nap!
This little kitty found something worth climbing the shelves for.
A cat can be comfortable just about anywhere.
According to my friend teacher Paul Hankins, “all the cool cats read”.
Reading material is also very useful for a game of hide and seek.
What’s cuter than a tiny cat reading a tiny book at a tiny desk?
We think they’re sleeping and playing while we’re at work, in reality they’re doing “research”.
Books, cats and napping, they just go together.
Thanks for joining us at Random Acts of Reading today, we hope these cats and their books have given you a reason to smile! If you have pictures of your pets and books, please share them with us at randomactsofreading@gmail.com and maybe they’ll be featured in a future post!

Oh my gosh, those are too darn cute!
Love the cat at the desk!
And how funny, I just saw the I Could Pee On This book at the store the other day.
